Guide

How to download Reddit videos, images & GIFs

Three steps, no signup, no watermark. Here's the whole flow — plus what happens under the hood.

Step 1

Copy the Reddit post URL

Open the post on Reddit. Tap Share and choose Copy Link. Full reddit.com URLs, redd.it short links and cross-posts all work.

Step 2

Paste it on RDsnap

Come back here and paste the URL into the input box on the homepage, then click Download. We fetch every available media asset in the post.

Step 3

Pick quality & save

Choose your preferred resolution (1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p, 240p) or audio-only. Progress streams live to your browser — nothing is stored on our end.

Why videos and audio come separately

Reddit stores videos using DASH — separate video tracks (each with a different resolution) and a single audio track. Most tools silently drop the audio. RDsnap surfaces every video quality and the audio track, then merges them automatically when you download.

Supported post types

Native Reddit videos (v.redd.it)

Up to 1080p with the merged audio track.

Single images (i.redd.it)

Original resolution plus thumbnail fallbacks.

Gallery posts

Every image in the gallery, individually or all at once.

Animated GIFs & MP4 GIFs

Save as GIF or converted MP4 for smaller files.

Tips for the best results

  • Always use the URL from the post itself, not a subreddit page.
  • For cross-posts, either the original or the cross-post URL works.
  • If a video seems low quality, try picking a higher rung from the quality dropdown.
  • Private, deleted, quarantined, or age-gated posts can't be fetched — that's a Reddit limitation.
