Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how RDsnap ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services. We're committed to keeping your data minimal and your usage private. If you don't agree with anything below, please stop using the service.

Information we collect

  • URLs you submit. Reddit post URLs you paste are sent to our server so we can fetch public post metadata from Reddit. URLs are not persisted after your request completes.
  • Log data. Standard request logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamp, path) may be kept transiently for abuse prevention and are automatically rotated.
  • Cookies & storage. A small localStorage entry remembers your light/dark theme choice. We do not set tracking cookies.
  • Advertising identifiers. Third-party ad partners (Google AdSense) may set cookies as described in the advertising section below.

How we use information

  • To fetch the requested Reddit post and stream media to your browser.
  • To keep the service reliable and prevent abuse (rate limits, spam detection).
  • To improve the site, diagnose errors, and monitor uptime.
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

Downloads and storage

Downloads stream directly through your browser via a lightweight proxy. We do not store the media files you download, and we do not maintain a history of your downloads on our servers.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display ads served by Google AdSense to support the site. Google and its partners may use cookies and identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. For details on Google's use of information, see the Google advertising policy.

Third-party services

When you download content, your browser establishes a connection to our server, which requests the media from Reddit's public CDN. Those requests are subject to Reddit's own policies. We may use standard hosting, DDoS protection, and CDN providers to deliver the site.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under the GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws — including access, deletion, correction, portability, and the right to opt out of personalised ads. We hold very little personal data by design; contact us via the Contact page to exercise any right.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
